|
The Clinical Research Forum is pleased to announce its annual Top 10 Clinical Research Achievement Awards honoring outstanding accomplishments in clinical research. This national competition seeks to identify major advances resulting from the nation's investment in research to benefit the health and welfare of its citizens.
We invite you to nominate outstanding research projects that:
-
represent innovation, creativity and scientific advancement,
-
contribute to the understanding of human disease and/or human physiology; and/or
-
demonstrate impact on the prevention, diagnosis and/or treatment or increased understanding of the disease state.
The nomination deadline is January 3, 2014.

2. Core of the Week: Flow Cytometry Core and Flow Image Analysis

Flow Cytometry Core and Flow Image Analysis
Director: Frederic Preffer, Ph.D.
Location: Simches 3.434 & CNY 6.307
The cell sorting and analysis lab provides access to the most sophisticated flow cytometers presently available. The core is able to analyze and physically separate cells based upon features detectable with fluorescently labeled monoclonal antibodies. The Amnis technology combines flow with fluorescent and bright field image based analysis.

ECOR is now accepting submission of abstracts for the 2014 SAC Poster Session!
Deadline for Submission: Tuesday, December 10, 2013 - 9:00 PM
The SAC Poster Session gives researchers the opportunity to create a compelling visual display of their work, and present it to some of the best scientific minds in the nation. It is an essential part of the two-day meeting, which highlights excellence in research at MGH. Presenters must be a MGH employee.

2. Partners Innovation Forum

December 9, 2013, 5-7PM with a reception to follow, BWH Bornstein Family Amphitheater
The Partners HealthCare community is invited to attend the newly launched Partners Innovators Forum, a monthly 5-part education series focused on contemporary issues in academic innovation. The Forum is free for the PHS community and is also open to the public. Future sessions will rotate between MGH and BWH.
RVL Innovators Forum: Corporate Venture Funding for Academic Ventures
This session will feature the leaders of some of the largest corporate venture funds in the world. Executives will share perspectives on investing in academically based ventures. The Forum is free for the PHS community and is also open to the public.

3. Save the Date! Research Nurse Book Club: RN Roundtable

Sponsored by the MGH Clinical Research Program
We are very pleased to announce the next selection of the Research Nurse Book Club. We will be discussing Bad Blood: The Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment by James H. Jones. Book club is open to anyone who has read the book or who is interested in hearing more about it!
Bad Blood may be found at Amazon.com, public libraries or your local bookstore.
The mission of the Research Nurse Roundtable is to provide a forum for nurses who work in clinical research to discuss issues common to their practice. The roundtable meets once a month and is led by experienced research nurses in collaboration with the MGH Clinical Research Program Education Unit. This forum provides a great opportunity for knowledge sharing, problem solving, peer support and community building.
