1. Core of the Week: Endocrine Histology Core |
Endocrine Histology Core
Directors: Marie Demay, MD & Dorothy Hu MSc, HTL (ASCP)
Location: 50 Blossom Street, Thier building 11th floor
The Histocore's services include processing, sectioning, and staining of paraffin sections, frozen sections, non-decalcified sections of bone (plastic and frozen) as well as consultative services for immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization analyses.

2. MGH MouseShare Resource |
Have you ever gone through the hassle of importing a mouse strain only to find out later that another investigator at MGH already had the same mouse?
The MGH MouseShare Resource is a new website that enables investigators to post and search for genetic mouse strains within the Partners research community to help minimize quarantine and shipping costs associated with the importation of mice from outside sources. 1. Kurt J. Isselbacher Symposium |

Please join us for this special symposium on Friday, June 26, 1-5pm to honor Dr. Kurt J. Isselbacher and his many accomplishments and leadership of the Mass General Division of Gastroenterology and the Mass General Cancer Center on the occasion of his 90th birthday. The symposium is open to all and registration is not required.

2. Join the Research Technical Lunch |

This month, Mike Lee, Manager of Strategic Services & Projects, ERIS, will provide an overview of the past, current and future state of Mobile Device Management (MDM) and how Partners plans to leverage new Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) solutions to provide Partners the flexibility to securely address the mobility needs of clinicians, researchers, and administrative staff. Manuela Stoyanov, Corporate Manager, ERIS and Vic Jones, Partners Senior Project Manager will discuss the Internet Explorer 11 initiative at Partners – project plan, timetable, and challenges. The monthly Tech Lunch is an important forum for research IT administrators and managers to engage with ERIS, Partners IS and each other regarding IT services, technologies, security and infrastructure. 3. Research Applications Group (RAG) Systems Day – 2015 |

As many of you know, we conducted a RAG System Days Survey within the Partners HealthCare organization and hospitals to determine the level of interest within our user community around system updates and projects that relate to our research administrative systems – InfoEd, Insight, Navigator, and MicroStrategy.

1. MGH ECOR Deliberative Interim Support Funding |
The Executive Committee on Research (ECOR) is accepting applications for the August 1st deadline for the Deliberative Interim Support Funding g. August is the second of three standing deadlines for these awards in 2015. The next deadline will be December 1, 2015.
What are they?
Deliberative Interim Support Funding
This is open to Principal Investigators during a lapse or delay in their research funding from the NIH or another Federal agency (e.g., the National Science Foundation, the Department of Defense). Investigators must have applied for independent, long-term support (R01, R21, U01 and P01). The Deliberative Interim Support process is open to:

Investigators whose grants were not scored or whose scores were not translated into a percentile ranking.
-
Investigators whose grants received scores >20th percentile.
-
Investigators who were awarded Formulaic Bridge Funding (grants with scores < or = 20th percentile), and are now requesting additional financial support (in excess of $75,000 for RO1s, and $37,500 for R21s).

Investigators who have already received Formulaic Bridge Funding or Deliberative Interim Support on their A0 grant application and are now requesting support for their A1 or A0 resubmission. Investigators in this category must apply through the Deliberative Interim Support process for their A1 and A0 resubmission regardless of the score they received on their resubmitted grant.

4. Limited Submission Funding Opportunities |
We ask that all MGH Investigators interested in applying for any limited submission award submit a Letter of Intent (see detailed instructions below) to the MGH Executive Committee on Research (ECOR) by the deadline indicated for each award to be considered to receive an institutional nomination.
Process
Submit a one- to two-page Letter of Intent (LOI) to the MGH Executive Committee on Research (ECOR) via email to ecor@partners.org. In addition to your LOI, please include an NIH Biosketch.
The letter of intent should include:

Name of the Principal Investigator with appropriate contact information
-
A descriptive title of the potential application
-
Brief description of the project
-
Brief description of why you specifically should be selected to receive institutional nomination for this award
In the event that there is more than one MGH investigators interested in applying for each limited submission award, the LOIs will be used to assess candidates and a review and selection process will take place.
